With its scenic mountain beauty, charming downtown, and excellent medical facilities, Hendersonville, North Carolina has been a popular retirement destination for decades.  People from all over the country choose to make HendersonvilleActive Adult Communities Asheville NC their home for this special time in their lives.  We have found that many of those who choose to spend their retirement here are from the great city of Atlanta and here are three reasons why.

Weather

It’s called Hotlanta for a reason.  Those stifling hot temperatures and oppressive humidity start to take their toll after awhile and if you’d like a break from hot and sticky summers, Hendersonville may be for you.  With its high elevation, temperatures top out at in the mid 80s in July which may seem cool if you’ve spent most of your life in the Peach State. With that said you won’t be moving to a frozen tundra either; light snow is mostly all you see in the winter here in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Location, Location, Location

After years of facing bumper to bumper traffic from Roswell to Buckhead, that same one hour drive you had to work every morning can get you to a wide variety of places in western North Carolina.  You can be on the Blue Ridge Parkway seeing some of the most beautiful mountain scenery this country has to offer, you can be in downtown Asheville, or enjoying the fine dining and nightlife of up and coming downtown Greenville, South Carolina.  All in less time than it took you to get to the office.

Arts & Culture

Hendersonville in just a few minutes away from Flat Rock, the home of the Flat Rock Playhouse and the Carl Sandburg home, the famed Lincoln biographer and poet laureate.  If you like live music, Asheville is home to many festivals that feature everything from bluegrass to jazz and the occasional craft brew is never hard to find.  If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, you are just an hour from Greenville’s Peace Center which has offered everything from Wicked  to Elton John. No matter where you look there is always something to do and you are never far from the action.

After building new homes in Hendersonville, for nearly 30 years we understand what a special place this little mountain town is.  We would like to invite you to explore Hendersonville is an option for your comfortable retirement.  If you would like to take a look at one of our Ready to Move in Home in the area please click on this link.
