Our newest community of new homes in Asheville, Mallard Run has been open less than a year now, so for our residents this is their first Mother’s Day in their new home. Whether you are new to the Arden area or you’ve been here for years, you know that nobody loves you like your mother. Since Sunday is her day we thought we might throw out a few ideas for things to do to show Mom how much you appreciate her.
Start with Brunch at 131 Main
Located in Biltmore Town Square, 131 Main, one of the areas finer restaurants will be offering a brunch menu which will be the most delicious way to start your Mother’s Day right. They will beeoffering Crab Cake Benedict, Steak Benedict, Challa French Toast. If the weather is nice you can sit outside on their patio and enjoy a relaxing Sunday morning. You might find that you are lured in for the day with a trip to Barnes & Noble or even a movie but if not perhaps you should try…
Travelling the Blue Ridge Parkway
Mallard Run is located just a few short minutes from the entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can spend a day driving along this beautiful scenic highway, stopping to take in the views and enjoying many of the trails that you will find along the way. Also on the Blue Ridge Parkway is the Folk Art Center where arts & crafts from local artisans can be found for viewing and purchase. You can also visit The Cradle of Forestry where you can learn all about Chief Forester George Schenck who founded the school of forestry in 1898.
The Outlet Mall
When you come back from your day of enjoying the natural world, take Mom to do what she really wants… shopping. The Asheville Outlets offer popular stores that Mom will love from Bath and Body Works. The Fragrance Outlet, and Pandora Jewlery. You can be sure to find what Mom is looking for in case you forgot and at outlet prices.
After all the runny noses, soccer practices, bedtime stories, and umpteen million other things she does, this is her one day out of the year to show how much you appreciate her. So we thought we would put out there a good idea or two for our residents in Mallard Run. So don’t forgot Mom this Sunday. There’s lots to do and it’s all just minutes from Mallard Run.
